Book a consultation with Karen Michelson, CNP, a board-certified nurse practitioner and former national trainer with over 25 years of experience. We’ll talk through your goals and create a plan for natural-looking results. For 5 days before treatment, avoid blood thinners (unless prescribed by your physician) and supplements that increase bruising, and skip alcohol for 24 hours. Taking Arnica tablets for 3 days prior may be beneficial in reducing bruising and swelling.

To mitigate bruising, for 5 days before treatment, avoid blood thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, fish oil and garlic. If you have been prescribed a blood thinner by your physician please check to see if it's ok to take a pause. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior. Please schedule dental appointments either two weeks prior or two weeks after your Sculptra® appointments. Taking Arnica tablets for 3 days prior may help decrease bruising and swelling.

After treatment, you will need to follow the 5-5-5 rule. You must massage your face for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days. We will show you how. We recommend Alastin Nectar for this process as it clears out old collagen making way for the new collagen that is being stimulated. The massage is important as it mitigates nodule formation and stimulates the collagen production. Plan on getting one - two vials once a year to maintain your results.
