TIXEL

Tixel is resurfacing without lasers or needles. It uses heat to create coagulation zones in your skin which resurface the skin and stimulate collagen. It works beautifully on crepey skin. Consider Tixel a safer version of an ablative laser, such as CO2, with less downtime, less discomfort and less wound care. The beauty of Tixel is that it can be used directly over the eyes without corneal shields for upper and lower eyelid tightening and wrinkle reduction around the eyes. In fact, many people come in just for the eye treatment. Also, Tixel helps with dry eye! The warmth stimulates the dysfunctional meibomian gland to start producing oil again.

What to expect during your treatment:

  • Depending on your treatment goals, your provider may apply numbing ointment prior to your session.

  • You will feel some heat and mild pricking as the device used on the skin. .

What to expect after your treatment:

  • Your skin will feel like you have a sunburn for a day and will be pink and swollen for 1-3 days.

  • Your may wear makeup after 1-3 days depending on how aggressive your treatment was.

  • You will experience tiny dark, rough dots on your skin like coffee grounds. This is the treated skin that will fall off revealing fresh skin underneath. This can last a few days up to about a week.

How many treatments are needed?

  • Multiple session are needed for optimal results. Usually 3-5 4 weeks apart however, you may decide that you are satisfied after less treatment and that is OK.
